ECAHS TO ADD $500 ADDITIONAL PAYOUT
TO CELEBRATION XVI WEANLING FUTURITY CLASSES
ECAHS will again, at Celebration XVI, add $500 additional
payout to the weanling futurity classes to be held at the Diamond 7 Ranch in
Dillsburg, PA on September 5 and 6, . This will be divided equally between any weanling class with
entries. As was done in the payouts for 2008, they will pay
out 100% (no 10% administration fee deducted from payouts). What a great way to showcase your Crabbet
Arabian babies and youngsters at subsequent Celebrations! See the rules below or they can also be
found at the Eastern Crabbet Arabian Horse Society website www.ecahs.org.
ELIGIBILITY
AND PAYMENTS
Owner of the nominated mare MUST be a current member of ECAHS
(prior to the birth of the foal) in order for the nomination to be valid. If
the nominated entry is sold, the new owner will have a 30 day grace period to
enter the futurity. This applies ONLY to the most recent
payment. Any earlier missed payments will include the applicable penalty (50%
of missed payments). The new owner may continue to participate in the Futurity
during that current year without joining ECAHS. However, in subsequent years,
Futurity participants must be ECAHS members. (Membership Information).
In order to
be eligible for the ECAHS Futurity,
PUREBRED
Foals must be
a least 50% Crabbet bloodlines. Eligibility will be determined by submission of
the pedigrees of the sire and dam with the mare nomination form. The foal will
receive an ECAHS certificate at a later date (following registration with the
Arabian Horse Association, formerly the Arabian Horse Registry). If the foal
does not meet the 50% requirement for the futurity, the mare nomination fee
will be returned.
PART-BRED (Foals must
be at least 25% Crabbet. Likewise, mare nomination fee will be returned if not
eligible and permanent certificate will be issued following registration with
the Arabian Horse Association (formerly IAHA).
NOMINATION
FEE
The mare nomination
fee of $15 ($10 to futurity and $5 for certificate) is due and must be postmarked
no later than March 31, providing the
foal is not born prior to March 31, .
In cases where the foal is to be born prior to March 31, 2008, the mare
nomination must be received to the Futurity Chairperson PRIOR to the birth of
that foal. The mare nomination fees are split
equally between colt and filly classes. Total futurity fees each year are $50.
Foals pay $10+$20+$20. Yearlings and older horses pay $25+$25. Payment dates
are June 1 and August 1st. An ENTRY
FEE is charged to exhibit in the Futurity classes at the Crabbet
Celebration.
LATE PAYMENTS
No substitutions of
any kind are permitted. The postmark is the deciding factor. Missed or late
payments may be made up with an additional penalty of 50%. Mare nominations not
postmarked by the due date will be returned.
PRIZE MONEY
General administrative expenses of 10% will NOT be deducted from the
general futurity funds before these funds are prorated among the various
classes. The purebred and part-bred futurity funds are separate. Prize money in
each class will be distributed among the first five places percentage-wise
1st-30%, 2nd-25%, 3rd-20%, 4th-15%, 5th-10%. In the event that horses actually
shown are fewer than prize money places, then the remaining monies will be
divided percentage-wise among those present. Thus, the futurity prize money funds
will be completely paid out each year.
Prize monies will be paid at the Annual Banquet.
PERFORMANCE CLASSES
In addition to halter classes for weanlings through four
year olds, we also have various performance classes for three and four year old
horses that were nominated into the ECAHS futurity.
SPONSORSHIPS
Sponsorships are also encouraged to increase prize money payouts in the classes
(other than foals). Donations are made to an age group designated for Halter or
Performance and the money is divided equally between the sexes for classes
which have entries shown. Sponsorship donations are accepted until the Celebration. Anyone may make a
donation.
PHILOSOPHY
This a “Breeders Futurity” that encourages participation by owners and amateurs
and exhibition of their horses in the “natural” presentation.
